Ireland has seen great diversification of its population in recent years with Irish residents who speak a language other than English or Irish at home increasing by 23% percent (139,489) between the 2016 and 2022 census with total number of 751,507 people speaking a language other than English or Irish at home.

Speak to me is a resource to assist interpreters working in health care settings in Ireland and particularly in palliative care contexts and includes:

• Good practice guidelines for community interpreters in healthcare settings
• Self-care strategies for interpreters
• Information about the nature of palliative care
• Links to further resources for interpreting in palliative care contexts
